In 2010, CommonWealth Magazine’s “30” issue launched the “Young Generation Brand Survey,” the first survey in Taiwan focusing specifically on consumers aged 25–34. The survey is divided into two main categories — “At Work” and “After Work” — and covers 20 product and service areas including 3C technology, food, finance, and lifestyle. It aims to observe the lifestyles of young people and understand the future landscape of consumer brands. Airlines were included for the first time in 2013, with a special sample analysis targeting men and women aged 25–34 to determine the most frequently used brands. China Airlines once again ranked first in the “2014 Most Used Brand” category.
In recent years, China Airlines has presented a new-generation image that appeals to younger audiences through its services and products. This includes introducing Taiwan cultural and creative series of painted aircraft such as the Jimmy Liao “Hug Me” plane, tourism-themed planes, and Taiwan Indigenous Travel planes. The airline also offers a blend of Eastern and Western in-flight meals along with local Taiwanese cuisine, and for the first time brought the popular idol drama “In Time with You” to 30,000 feet in the air.
