Tokyo Disneyland Launches Drawing Classes to Teach Visitors How to Sketch Iconic Cartoon Characters

The fairy-tale world created by Disney is the most beautiful dream of both children and adults in their childhood. If just watching isn’t enough, Tokyo Disneyland has introduced the “Disney Drawing Classroom,” where you can master the techniques under the guidance of staff and draw these adorable Disney characters.

Before heading to the attraction areas, you’ll surely pass through “World Bazaar,” a street modeled after the hometown of founder Walt Disney and designed with the urban style of early 20th-century America. Inside a Victorian-style “Disney Gallery,” original works, models, sketches, and sculptures meticulously crafted by Disney artists are on display.

In addition to admiring these rare original works, there are also drawing classes held on the second floor of the gallery, teaching participants how to grasp the techniques and easily sketch Mickey and other Disney characters.

The drawing classes are divided into “Beginner Class” and “Advanced Class,” with different cartoon characters featured in each session. The day’s schedule and featured characters are announced on the first floor of the gallery after the park opens.All sessions are registered on-site for the same day.Although the entire class is conducted in Japanese, following along on the big screen stroke by stroke to create your own unique version of a Disney character offers a truly alternative park experience. Upon completion, the drawing classroom also gives out exclusive commemorative paper frames to take home as souvenirs and cherish the best memories.
