Keelung Port will witness the simultaneous docking of five large cruise ships on the 18th, with an estimated total of 13,000 passengers embarking and disembarking, setting a new record for passenger services at Taiwanese ports. To commemorate the day, the Keelung Harbor Branch has designated May 18 as “Keelung Port Cruise Day,” and has alsopublished on its official Facebook pagethe docking schedule and locations of the five ships.

The ships docking simultaneously on the 18th include three international cruise liners — the Sapphire Princess, Voyager of the Seas, and SuperStar Aquarius — as well as the China-Orient Star, a passenger-cargo ferry operating across the Taiwan Strait, and the TaiMa, a domestic passenger-cargo ferry. It’s the day with the highest number of cruise ships docked at Keelung Port this year. Although the Keelung Harbor Branch has stated that the public will not be allowed on board, many netizens are gearing up to witness the rare and spectacular scene in person.

Even on “Urgent Deer Day,” just the sight of the “Voyager of the Seas” and the “SuperStar Aquarius” docked together at Keelung Port was already spectacular!

According to the schedule provided by the Keelung Harbor Branch, the best time to see the most ships docked is between 10 AM and 5 PM. The “Voyager of the Seas” and the “Sapphire Princess” will be docked at Piers East 2/3 and East 4, while the SuperStar Aquarius, China-Orient Star, and TaiMa will be at Piers West 2 and West 3. The China-Orient Star will be temporarily moved to Pier West 4 between 10 AM and 5 PM to accommodate overall berth arrangements, then return to Pier West 3 after 5 PM for passenger boarding.

To celebrate this rare event, in addition to hosting a cruise photography competition, the Keelung Harbor Branch will sell a limited edition of 500 “Beauty of Cruises” commemorative stamps at two locations on the 18th: the first-floor self-operated shop at the East Coast Keelung Port Building and the second-floor counter at the West Coast Passenger Terminal. Each purchase of stamps comes with a free postcard featuring designs inspired by four cruise ships (Sapphire Princess, Voyager of the Seas, SuperStar Aquarius, and China-Orient Star), while supplies last.
