Taiwan’s Most Luxurious Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel Opens on the 18th

Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel, billed as “ultra-luxury six-star,” officially opened on the 18th. This newly established flagship of a top-tier luxury hotel, years in the making and costing NT$25 billion, boasts the highest construction cost in Taiwan. Its standard room size, room rates, premium wedding banquet prices, and banquet hall capacity have all claimed four “No. 1 in Taipei” titles in one go, decisively outshining Grand Hyatt and W Hotel to become the new leader among Taipei’s high-end hotels.

The Invincible Easterner is Back！Lin Chi-ling Attends the Opening of Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel

From the outset, the development of Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel had a clear goal: to aim for the “pinnacle.” Its mission was to attract the wealthiest elite — the top tier of the pyramid — all coming to dine and stay at the hotel. The property not only offers accommodations but also places strong emphasis on dining, entertainment, leisure, and spa environments. From small details like luggage carts to the equipment and facilities used in every space, the “luxury DNA” is evident everywhere, ensuring every guest enjoys the highest level of service.

The hotel has a total of 256 guest rooms and 47 suites. All rooms emphasize brightness and are equipped with the latest technology, luxurious marble bathrooms, and spacious cloakrooms and makeup areas that can accommodate multiple people. The even more luxurious Mandarin Suites and Presidential Suites feature exclusive spa and fitness spaces.

To emphasize the philosophy that “spaciousness is luxury,” compared to other Taipei city-center star-rated hotels where standard room sizes typically range from about 10 to 13 ping, Mandarin Oriental’s standard rooms start at a minimum of 17 ping, making them the largest in all of Taipei. The smallest suites are 33 ping, while the top-tier Presidential Suite spans an impressive 114 ping.

For dining, Mandarin Oriental houses six restaurants and bars, including the “M.O. Bar,” “Qing Yu,” and “Mandarin Pastry Shop,” all designed by internationally acclaimed designer Tony Chi (Tony Chi), as well as the French restaurant “COCO,” Cantonese restaurant “Elegant Pavilion,” and Italian restaurant “Bencotto.” Among them, the “Mandarin Pastry Shop” will open at 3 PM on the 18th, while the other five will officially begin operations on the 19th.

The Mandarin Oriental’s ultra-luxurious private banquet hall, “Mandarin Mansion,” holds two “No. 1 in Taipei” titles. Its spacious interior can host events or parties for international fashion brands or be exclusively reserved by the wealthy for various banquets. Unsurprisingly, the pricing is also top-tier, with a minimum of NT$52,800 per table, and even the general grand ballroom wedding banquets start at NT$38,800 per table — truly “premium” in both facilities and price.

On the opening day, the 18th, Taipei Mandarin Oriental Hotel specially invited the “eternal superstar” — Lin Chi-ling — to perform the ribbon-cutting ceremony. She will also become the hotel’s first guest.
