Live from Keelung Port: The Spectacular “Five-Cruise-Ships-Gathering”

Keelung Port was bustling all day today (May 18)! Starting with the morning arrival of the Sapphire Princess, followed by the gradual docking of four cruise ships — the COSCO STAR, the Voyager of the Seas, and the SuperStar Aquarius — at various berths around the port, the Taiwan-Matsu Ferry is expected to arrive at 5 PM. The public will then witness an unprecedentedly magnificent sight: the “Five-Cruise-Ships-Gathering”!

Keelung Port has seen a continuous stream of cruise ships in May, with multiple large vessels berthing at the docks almost every week. On the 18th, it set a new record for the highest number of passenger ships in port this year, with an estimated 13,000 passengers embarking and disembarking — a historic high in passenger service for any port in Taiwan. This extraordinary event led the Keelung Port Branch to designate May 18 as “Keelung Port Cruise Day.”

In addition to watching the “arrival of the big ships,” the Keelung Port Branch will also sell a limited edition of 500 commemorative stamps on-site, and give out postcards designed with imagery of the four cruise ships. Cruise-themed souvenir stamps will also be available for visitors to collect as keepsakes.

Currently, the “Voyager of the Seas” and the “Sapphire Princess” are docked at Berths East 2/3 and East 4, while the SuperStar Aquarius and the COSCO STAR are at Berths West 2 and West 4. After 5 PM, the COSCO STAR will move to Berth West 3 for passenger boarding, and the Taiwan-Matsu Ferry is expected to arrive at Berth West 2 at 5 PM.
