Martial law and curfew imposed nationwide in Thailand    Tourism Authority Director: All travel arrangements remain operational as normal

Thailand declared martial law nationwide on May 22 and established the "National Council for Peace and Order" to maintain domestic order. Thawatchai Arunyik, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, emphasized that although the current political situation has impacted Thailand's tourism industry, the effect is not across the board.

Thawatchai Arunyik, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, stated that although a curfew (from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning) is currently in effect in Bangkok and surrounding areas, including across the whole country, and the political situation has impacted Thailand’s tourism industry, the impact is not universal. Local life and the routines of residents remain as usual, and the streets are calm. The "National Council for Peace and Order" also stated that the curfew is only temporary, and at this stage, Thailand’s tourism industry and travel services are all operating normally, though nighttime operations may need to be adjusted to comply with the curfew.

In addition, all transportation routes within Thailand remain unaffected, including domestic and international airports, public transport systems, rail and road links between provinces, as well as waterway transport, all of which are operating normally; inbound and outbound travelers passing through airports during the curfew period only need to show their travel documents to be allowed entry or exit, and airport taxis also provide 24-hour, round-the-clock pick-up and drop-off services.
