Brazilian Street Art Graces Boeing 737: World Cup National Team Plane Gets an Artistic Makeover

Here’s another reason to believe Brazilians are the coolest people on Earth—this time, they’ve transformed the national football team’s dedicated plane for the World Cup into a stunning piece of street art.

Former breakdancers turned renowned Brazilian street art twin brothers Os Gemeos used 1,200 cans of spray paint to give a Boeing 737 a dazzling new coat adorned with their signature vibrant colors.

The twin street artists Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo are famous for their distinctive yellow-skinned graffiti characters.

Commissioned by Brazil’s low-cost airline GOL, the plane will transport the national football team to various host cities across Brazil from the start of the FIFA World Cup on June 12 until its conclusion.

Although the graffiti artist duo didn’t initially plan this project around the World Cup theme, the idea to paint the plane came from the twins themselves. Their design focuses on the themes of “Brazilians, democracy, and diversity,” expressing the passion and uniqueness of the Brazilian people. Additionally, this colorful painted plane will continue flying with GOL for the next two years after the World Cup.
