Travel Center / Comprehensive Report ⟦5⟨The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle "Salt Town Coastal Line," which operates around the Yunlin–Chiayi–Tainan Coastal Scenic Area, will extend its route into downtown Chiayi starting June and begin trial operations from today. During the trial period, the shuttle is offering a one-day pass at a special price of NT$200, allowing passengers to explore both the iconic attractions of the Salt Town Coastal area and downtown Chiayi with ease on the same ride!

The Taiwan Tourist Shuttle “Yanxiang Coastal Line,” which operates around the Yunlin-Kaohsiung-Tainan Coastal Scenic Area, will extend its route into central Chiayi City starting June. A trial operation has begun as of now, during which the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle is offering a one-day pass at a special discounted price of NT$200, allowing visitors to explore the most iconic attractions along both the Yanxiang Coastal area and central Chiayi City with ease!

To increase ridership and connect Chiayi’s hotels with popular attractions,the "Salt Town Coastal Line" has added four new stops: Nice Plaza, Guiyi Forest Life Village, Grand Park Hotel (near Wenhua Road Night Market), and the Chiayi Early-Stage Transportation Transfer Center,bringing the total number of stops to 15 and the route length to approximately 98 kilometers. At the same time, visitors can travel between the three main exhibition areas—the "2014 One Sight, Two Sculptures – Salt & Sand Sculpture Art Festival," set to grandly open on the 7th at Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area, Qigu Salt Mountain, and the Taiwan Salt Museum—using the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle.

In addition to payment options such as EasyCard, smart cards, and cash on board,the "Salt Town Coastal Line" is introducing a new NT$200 one-day transit ticket (the round-trip fare was originally NT$636) during the trial operation period.After official launch, the shuttle will integrate local dining, entertainment, and other attraction discounts along the route, making it even more convenient for travelers to enjoy everything with just one ticket!

During the trial period, there will be four daily departures on both weekdays and weekends. On weekends, the shuttle will transform into a special sightseeing bus to provide in-depth tours for passengers. Volunteer-guided onboard commentary services will also be offered starting from the Budai Visitor Center, allowing visitors to get off the bus to take photos, shop for local specialties, and sample regional snacks while immersing themselves in the beauty of the Salt Town Coastal area.
