Hot Air Balloon Festival Parking Fee Standard: Taitung County Residents Pay Once for Unlimited Parking

The “2014 Taiwan International Hot Air Balloon Festival” is in full swing at Luye Gaotai in Taitung. In addition to arranging free shuttle buses and connections with Taiwan Tourist Shuttle’s “Longitudinal Valley Luye Line,” Taitung County Government has also set vehicle entry fee standards. There are also special programs such as rides on Dingdong Bus lines and shared taxi services to ensure every visitor can smoothly enter the venue and enjoy the hot air balloon experience.

The Taitung County Government stated that during the Hot Air Balloon Festival period (May 31 – August 10), parking fees at Luye Gaotai are charged during two time slots each day: 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. On days with light shows and concerts, the evening slot extends to 8:00 PM. The fee is NT$100 on weekdays and NT$150 on weekends and holidays, with each vehicle charged only once per day. Additionally, motorcycles and bicycles can enter for free, buses are exempt from fees for the first 15 minutes upon entry, and vehicles that enter but do not park are not charged.

Taitung County residents can pay the parking fee just once during the Hot Air Balloon Festival period at Luye Gaotai if they present identification proving their household registration is in Taitung or if their vehicle is registered in Taitung (excluding rental cars and commercial vehicles), and then enjoy unlimited use thereafter.
