When it comes to romance in Europe, France is definitely in the top three. Beyond the big cities, the countryside is even more filled with traditional charm, a world apart from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Take, for example, the recently selected best village“Kayserberg”, with its picturesque scenery and architecture that truly feel like something out of a fairy tale.

According to Lonely Planet, Kayserberg was named France’s best village, and its scenery alone reveals why it has earned such a prestigious title. This medieval village is located in Alsace in northeastern France, where local buildings blend seamlessly with the surrounding woods, and the cobblestone streets create an incredibly poetic atmosphere. As a result, Kayserberg beat out 12 other competitors to take the top spot.

The village welcomes a large number of tourists every year, and visitor numbers are expected to rise even further following the announcement of the best villages competition results.
