The Three Gorges Indigo Dyeing Festival kicks off – 5-meter indigo-dyed piece showcases a century of prosperity in Old Three Gorges

The "2014 New Taipei City Three Gorges Indigo Dyeing Festival" kicked off on the 14th at the Old Street of Three Gorges, inviting the public to join in "Showcasing Indigo in Three Gorges" from now until July 13. The highly distinctive "Three Gorges Indigo Dyeing Festival," now in its 13th year, has not only driven the local cultural and artistic development in the Three Gorges area but has also become synonymous with the region. It aims to attract more artistic and creative talents to join in research and development, reviving the splendor of the Triangle Dyeing Street from a century ago.

The History and Culture Museum in the Three Gorges District has also set up a "Fine Indigo Dyeing Exhibition," mainly divided into four major zones, including the "Designer Invitation Exhibition Zone" featuring works by domestic indigo dyeing artists and schools; the "Kataono Dye Theme Creative Exhibition Zone" showcasing the tie-dye techniques of Japanese master craftsman Kataono Motohiko; the "Indigo Leather Theme Achievement Exhibition Zone" displaying five years of research and development in indigo leather dyeing by the Three Gorges Dye Workshop; and the "Indigo Dyeing Clothing Try-On Experience Zone" offering a variety of indigo-dyed clothing, accessories, and children's wear for visitors to try on.

During the "2014 New Taipei City Three Gorges Indigo Dyeing Festival," besides performances by local groups and parades by 16 teams dressed in indigo-dyed attire, there will also be activities such as the "Blue Carnival," "Showcasing Blue Splendor Performances," "Indigo Dyeing DIY Experiences," and the "Happy Painting Competition Featuring Indigo Dyeing."
