Traffic control on Brown Highway and Heaven Road in July; non-agricultural vehicles not allowed

Travelers planning to visit Brown Highway in Taitung during the summer vacation should take note: the Taitung County Government has announced that from July 1 to August 31, traffic control will be in place on Brown Highway and Heaven Road, and non-agricultural vehicles will not be allowed to enter. As the area is about to enter its busy farming season with a series of harvesting operations, the Taitung County Government said that to ensure the smooth movement of crops and preserve the natural scenery and tourism quality of the area, the decision to limit vehicle access was made after an on-site inspection involving the county government, Chihshang Township Office, and the county police bureau.

Earlier, Chen Shu-hui, director of the Taitung County Government Tourism Department, also mentioned in an interview that Brown Highway, Heaven Road, and Futzhen area were approved in late April to be included in Taitung’s “cultural assets.” The county government believes the beautiful natural landscape is worth preservingand, out of respect for local culture, it is necessary to reduce vehicle traffic and maintain a pleasant and beautiful environment. Additionally, the Taitung County Government also encourages visitors to travel on foot or by bicycle to help preserve the area’s natural appearance.
