Cycling around Shihkang is super popular – don’t miss the brand-new 3D painting village attraction

Taichung’s Shihkang isn’t one of Taiwan’s most well-known tourist destinations, yet it has recently seen a surge in cycling pilgrimages. The reason? The Shihkang District Office has carefully created a “Jiufang Fairy Tale World Painting Village” in Jiufang Li, Shihkang District, featuring more than 10 3D painted artworks themed around local crops and specialties, adding a fun splash of color to the entire village.

I cycled to the painting village, starting from the Dongfeng Green Corridor, passing through a natural green tunnel formed by trees. The first stop was the former stop of the Dongshi branch line, where old Rotary trains used to be parked. After the station was closed, it became a gathering spot for nearby retail vendors and was nicknamed the “Zero Load Platform,” playfully referred to as the “0 Egg Platform.”
