A 5-meter-tall crimson heart demon in a tiny black cage — The Monster Police Station becomes a new "cop" attraction in Xitou

The long-awaited "Monster Police Station" in Xitou was grandly unveiled alongside the 29th Monster God Festival. Symbolizing human malice, the "Crimson Heart Demon" became the festival’s first offering, hoisted high into a narrow black cage in front of the Xitou Police Station. Beyond adding a splash of color to the station, it represents imprisoning humanity’s inner demons and dispelling all bad thoughts.

The "Crimson Heart Demon" in front of the Monster Police Station was created by Niu Ge, a designer from Monster Village. The inspiration came from a quote by the late renowned forensic scientist Yang Risheng: "People may do evil because they are possessed by a 'heart demon.'" Thus, the "heart demon" that manipulates human will is locked in a cage and placed in front of the police station, also symbolizing the duty of guardians of the people not only to ensure public safety but also to prevent crime.

After the unveiling of the Crimson Heart Demon, the formerly stern image of the police station was completely transformed. It not only brings the public closer to their guardians but also adds a lively and playful touch to the station’s architecture. Beneath the demon’s cage, there is also a small hand-washing basin. On its first day of unveiling, the Monster Police Station attracted crowds of visitors eager to take photos and explore. However, many complained that the final design was "very different" from the originally released concept art. Some had expected to see a giant red monster resembling Spider-Man perched atop the police station roof, but due to design approval issues, the concept was changed. The heart demon is now displayed like a signboard, confined within a cage at the station entrance. Many said, "It totally lost its impact!" But others felt the demon was unique and gave Monster Village yet another fresh attraction.
