Three Major Summer Events at Tainan’s Summer Sea Park – The Qigu Seafood Festival Kicks Off on the 12th

“Tainan Summer Sea Park” event is one of Tainan’s three major summer activities this year. Following the “One Sight, Double Wonders Art Festival,” the “Qigu Seafood Festival” will take place on the 12th and 13th. In addition to the annual popular clam-digging and oyster-catching experience, it’s worth mentioning that this year sees the debut of a Qigu microfilm and the Qigu anthem, combining the area’s rich ecological resources with the creative cultural industry. The final event is the “Masago Music Festival” on August 9th.

During Tainan’s peak tourist season, aside from the hot spring festival and New Year’s countdown trilogy in November and December, as well as Lunar New Year events, the “Summer Sea Park” from June to August is the highlight. Not only has the number of participants reached new highs year after year, but the themes have also continued to innovate. The grand finale of this year’s events is the Masago Music Festival on August 9th. In addition to the Masago Music Awards, which encourage originality, promote Tainanese culture, and nurture musical talent—inviting independent bands nationwide to participate—first, second, and third place winners will receive prizes of NT$30,000, NT$20,000, and NT$10,000 respectively. This year also features Taiwan’s first-ever fluorescent concert, headlined by powerhouse vocalist A-Lin, with performances by Golden Melody Award-winning ballad queen Jia Jia and jazz prince Yen-J, in a one-hour mini-concert format with a live band setup.
