Last updated 2026-09-26 — This is a must-try delicacy at Donggang Night Market. Located beside the post office in the night market, it draws long queues every day starting around 2 PM, as everyone comes to try what’s touted as Yilan’s best scallion pancake. However, Jean dislikes queuing, so she’s only had it twice so far. That day, while Ben waited in the car nearby as I ran an errand at the post office, there was no queue on a weekday~ To reward him, I bought one for us to share Up!!

This is a must-try delicacy at Donggang Night Market. Located beside the post office in the night market, it draws long queues every day starting around 2 PM, as everyone comes to try what’s touted as Yilan’s best scallion pancake. There are two types of scallion pancakes in Yilan. I’ve tried both the fried egg crepe and the scallion pancake—the delicious flavors are distinctly different.

The fried egg crepe has plenty of scallions—almost a handful sprinkled on top. The crepe is smooth and tender, with an added crispy, flaky crunch.
The scallion pancake is a bit firmer and has fewer scallions, but its layered textures and slightly charred flavor are truly unforgettable.

One serving is 30 NT$, or 40 NT$ with an egg added—using Yilan’s famed Sanxing scallions.
The scallion pancake is already seasoned, so I don’t add any extra seasonings.

I added a bit of spice for Ben—it tasted even better!!

There are still plenty of scallions, but luckily, it doesn’t feel too greasy when eating.
The combination of those flaky layers and scallions really captures the joy of budget street food.

We’ve seen branches of Yifeng Scallion Pancakes at the stall under the Renshan Nursery in Dongshan and at Taipei Railway Station.
The taste is similar—at least there’s no queue, and occasionally having it is still quite touching.
But whichever version you try, it leaves a lingering fragrance and unforgettable aftertaste. You can’t help but glance at it as you walk by.
And if there’s no queue? Hehe~~ how could you miss it?

Bought it and immediately got in line—so crazy^^
