Fans must see this: The world’s tallest “Snoopy” appears at Hong Kong Harbour City

Since its debut in 1950, Snoopy’s adorable appearance has been loved by fans all over the world. From July 16 to August 12, 2014, Hong Kong’s Harbour City will host the “Dreams Take Flight” Snoopy Art & Lifestyle Exhibition, inviting multiple master artisans to present a diverse range of Snoopy-themed artworks, including the world’s tallest Snoopy sculpture. This makes Harbour City a wonderland of childhood joy and dreams during the event period.

At the “Dreams Never Fall” giant Snoopy installation in Harbour City’s outdoor plaza, four Snoopy sculptures representing different stages are displayed, with the tallest reaching 3.3 meters — the world’s tallest Snoopy sculpture. Additionally, the Harbour City Art Gallery will host the “What Is Done. What Is Thought” Snoopy Calligraphy Art and Japanese Craft Exhibition. The works in the exhibition come from the “SNOOPY JAPANESQUE” exhibition held in Japan in 2013, featuring text art that combines calligraphy with Snoopy, as well as a variety of pottery and lacquerware themed around Snoopy. These are ingenious combinations of Snoopy and Japanese craft art, as well as perfect fusions of Eastern and Western artistic styles.

The most iconic scene in the Snoopy comics — the “doghouse” — has also been transformed into artistic installations by skilled artists. Harbour City has turned its underground street into the “Little House. Big World” art corridor, inviting 10 celebrities and artists to decorate Snoopy’s doghouse as their own dreams. Through artistic presentation, more people can embark on a journey where dreams take flight.
