Teenagers get discounts on high-speed rail    50–70% off from July 21

July and August are peak travel seasons during summer vacation. Taiwan High Speed Rail has launched the “Teenagers’ High-Speed Rail Discount Program.” From July 21 to August 31, teenagers aged 12 and above but under 19 can enjoy 50% or 70% discounts when traveling on designated trains. Passengers must present a photo ID with date of birth to qualify for the discount.

The “Teenagers’ High-Speed Rail Discount Program” runs for 42 days, with discounts available every day of the week. There are up to 277 eligible trains per week, accounting for nearly 30% of all services—100 trains offer 50% off and 177 trains offer 70% off, helping travelers save both time and money.

Taiwan High Speed Rail stated that the train schedules eligible for the “Teenagers’ High-Speed Rail Discount Program” are exactly the same as those for the “University Students’ Discount Program.” This makes it ideal for teens to travel with friends during summer break. The program can also be combined with the “Early Bird Discount,” available to all passengers, to plan family trips and create unforgettable holidays for parents and children alike.
