Next expansion plan for Sushiro: After entering downtown Taoyuan, then moving to New Taipei City

Sushiro’s second branch in Taipei—Taipei Guanqian Store—is set to officially open on July 4. With 235 seats, it will be the store with the most seating in any Sushiro location worldwide. Sushiro aims to open 10 stores in Taiwan this year. Nishikawa Kentaro, chairman of Taiwan Sushiro, revealed the next phase of expansion plans: first establishing a presence in Taoyuan City’s Taoyuan District, followed by expanding into New Taipei City, possibly around Sanchong and Luzhou.

Taipei Guanqian Store has 235 seats, making it the Sushiro branch with the most seating worldwide. It is also the brand’s first global flagship store and serves as a testing ground for various services as well as a launchpad for new products. Given Taiwan’s proximity to Hong Kong and mainland China, the Taipei flagship store can also serve as a model for overseas expansion. In addition to aiming to open 10 stores this year, Nishikawa Kentaro stated in an interview two years ago that his ultimate goal for Sushiro in Taiwan is to have 50 stores—a target that remains unchanged. As for future location choices, Nishikawa said the focus for now will be on metropolitan areas and their suburbs, such as Greater Taipei and Greater Taichung.

To celebrate the new store opening, Sushiro Taipei Guanqian Store (Global Flagship) will offer a limited-edition 6-piece Conan collaboration gashapon set (5 regular + 1 special prize) from July 4 to August 3, with the special prize having a slim one-in-500 chance of being won. Additionally, visitors who engage with the Sushiro Taipei Guanqian Store (Global Flagship) Facebook page from June 28 to July 28 can enjoy a 10% discount on their meal.

Furthermore, Sushiro has recently introduced new menu items: Golden Sweet Potato Tempura Soft Serve and Chicken Tempura. Among these, the Golden Sweet Potato Tempura Soft Serve is an exclusive item available only in Taiwan and not found in Sushiro locations abroad. Five seasonal limited-edition dishes include Crab Stick Tempura with Sweet Soy Sauce, Salted Scallion Peanut Salmon (one piece), Wasabi Snail Meat Gunkan, Spicy Tuna Gunkan, and Grilled Teriyaki Pork.
