Travelers dress up as ghosts to explore Xitou — Nantou’s Monster Village holds “spirits on the loose” event during Ghost Month

Starting July 27, which marks the beginning of the lunar seventh month, the “Taiwan Good Bus” scenic area shuttle bus line to Xitou has teamed up with Xitou Monster Village to launch a “Monster Good Bus.” Passengers riding the special bus on July 27 dressed up as the most unique and creative ghosts and monsters, all heading together to Xitou Monster Village to take part in the annual monster carnival “Mozu Festival,” creating a scene reminiscent of Taiwan’s version of Halloween.

The organizers recruited over 30 parent-child pairs and groups of friends, who were selected after review to receive free experience opportunities. Many participants used their crafting skills to make props and dress themselves up, and even the bus driver specially dressed as a vampire to welcome everyone aboard the monster bus.

Monster Village has also prepared a series of exciting activities to greet visitors coming to celebrate from all over, including a monster parade, ninja skill workshops by the Iga Ueno ninja, and a joint performance for the first time by the “Nine Heavens Art Dance Troupe” and the “Tianxiang Taiko Drum Troupe,” offering the audience a double treat for the eyes and ears.
