No need for a long journey – you can find a bald cypress secret spot right in Taipei City. The bald cypresses in the Indigenous Peoples Park opposite the National Palace Museum are turning red, with about 10 trees gradually changing color. Amidst the vast greenery, hints of yellow, orange, and red emerge, with gradient hues highlighting the beauty of the season. Reflecting off the emerald lake, it looks like a European oil painting.

After leaving the National Palace Museum, walk through Zhishan Garden for about two minutes, and you’ll arrive at the Indigenous Peoples Cultural Theme Park. In addition to a row of stone statues representing Taiwan’s various indigenous peoples and cultural art installations, over 10 bald cypress trees are planted by the lake. The cold air has prompted the treetops to change color. Recently, a netizen captured images showing about 20% of the trees turning from green to red, with expectations that the entire area will be fully red by the end of the month.

The row of bald cypress trees stands along the lakeside, with wooden walkways, pavilions, and the surrounding mountain forest providing the perfect backdrop. It’s an ideal photography spot. After visiting the Palace Museum, take a short walk to the Indigenous Peoples Park to admire the colorful bald cypresses – you’ll be amazed at how close such beauty really is.
