Starting June 6, the Puyuma Express will add "super non-stop trains" that go directly to Taitung without any intermediate stops

Since the Puyuma Express officially began service, it has significantly reduced travel time between Taipei and Taitung. Coupled with the peak summer travel season, the demand from commuters and tourists has been overwhelming, leaving seats in short supply. In response, Taiwan Railways has decided to not only increase the number of trains starting June 6 but also introduce "super non-stop trains" that make no intermediate stops, taking passengers directly to Taitung.

Since the Puyuma Express joined Taiwan Railways' fleet, the journey from Taipei to Taitung now takes just three and a half hours. Even with multiple service increases to accommodate the large number of travelers, seats remain hard to come by. Taiwan Railways has now announced another round of service expansions. From June 6 to September 1, two additional Puyuma Express trains will run daily from Monday to Thursday. One of these will be a "super non-stop train" traveling from Taipei to Taitung without any intermediate stops, while the return trip from Taitung to Taipei will stop only at Yuli Station. Reservations for the additional services will open at midnight onthe Taiwan Railways official website.
