You can ride a YouBike right after getting off the train — Taiwan’s first dual-mode transport hub “Xike Station” opens

Taiwan’s first public bicycle rental station integrating both railway and metro services, the YouBike station, was officially launched at Taiwan Railways’ Xike Station on the 3rd. In the future, with just an EasyCard, you’ll be able to travel seamlessly across the metro, Taiwan Railways, buses, and YouBikes!

New Taipei City’s public bicycle rental system continues to integrate with Taipei’s. Six demonstration stations have so far been completed in Xizhi and Xindian. According to statistics from the New Taipei City Department of Transportation, YouBike stations have seen enthusiastic responses since their launch, with over half of users riding between New Taipei and Taipei.

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu stated that integrating YouBike with Taiwan Railways makes commuting extremely convenient, as passengers can transfer immediately upon exiting the station. In addition to plans to gradually convert all existing NewBike stations in New Taipei City to YouBike within two years, the city also aims to establish 60 new stations with 1,600 bikes by the end of this year.

The current experimental YouBike stations in New Taipei City are located at Xizhi Railway Station, Xizhi District Office, Cathay General Hospital, Dapeng Huacheng, Yulon Park, and Taipei Metro Dapinglin Station, with a total of approximately 25,000 rentals so far.
