Universal Studios Japan Launches New Attraction: Be Chased by ‘Attack on Titan’

Followingthe opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal Studios Japan is gearing up to launch yet another new major attraction. To draw more domestic tourists, the park will host a limited-time event“Universal Cool Japan”from January 23 to May 10 next year, featuring heart-pounding survival games where visitors must try to escape being hunted by ‘Attack on Titan’.

In the popular Japanese manga ‘Attack on Titan’, scenes of giants hunting humans will now be brought to life for park guests. ‘Universal Cool Japan’ will be divided into four major themes, including ‘Attack on Titan’, as well as ‘Monster Hunter’, ‘Neon Genesis Evangelion’, and an upgraded survival game version of ‘Resident Evil’. According to Japanese media reports, Universal Studios Japan will use 3D imagery and special effects to create an immersive large-scale entertainment space.

Although detailed information about the attractions has not yet been released, park officials have revealed that the ‘Attack on Titan’ themed facility is being planned as a type of escape room experience.
