Recently, fried chicken has remained a hot topic, but aside from chicken nuggets, did you know that Jiguang Xiangxiang Chicken has launched a “Thin-Skinned Whole Chicken”? Shortly after its release, it created quite a buzz, but was only available at 8 outlets across Taiwan. To allow more people to enjoy the deliciousness of a whole fried chicken, Jiguang Xiangxiang Chicken has added 4 new outlets: Taipei 101, Hsinchu Mitsukoshi, Taichung Chinmei, and Tainan Shin Kong Mitsukoshi.

Huang Chih-hsiung, CEO of the Xiangji Group, stated that many customers mentioned how satisfying it would be to enjoy a whole piece of Xiangxiang fried chicken. As a result, they developed the “Thin-Skinned Whole Chicken.” Due to the complex frying process of one chicken per pot and the carefully selected ingredients, it is only available in limited quantities. Unexpectedly, it became a hot topic as soon as it was launched. The Thin-Skinned Whole Chicken is marinated using an exclusively developed, traditional spice blend. Although it is thoughtfully cut into pieces for easier handling and eating, it is still derived from a whole chicken, so you can enjoy parts other than just the chicken thighs and wings. Additionally, it is topped with Sichuan-style slightly spicy pickled beans and chopped pungent onions, adding further layers of flavor to the already delicious fried chicken.

In addition to the original outlets in Taipei Main Station, Taipei A8, Taipei Xincheng, Taichung Jiguang, Fengyuan, Tainan Nanfang, and Tainan Caoya, the newly added outlets in Taipei 101, Hsinchu Mitsukoshi, Taichung Chinmei, and Tainan Shin Kong Mitsukoshi bring the total number of locations where it is available across Taiwan to 12.

Meanwhile, another well-known fried chicken brand, KFC, recently launched a Sweet and Sour Sauce-Flavored Fried Chicken. Fresh chicken is first marinated until flavorful, then coated and deep-fried to a golden crisp. A specially made sweet and sour sauce is evenly coated over the crispy fried chicken skin, and finally topped with sesame seeds. With its sweet and tangy taste, it is available for a limited time only until January 15, 2018.
