Long-haul flights are definitely one of the biggest challenges of traveling. No matter how excited you are, feeling drowsy upon arrival or even experiencing physical discomfort is likely due to your body being out of its comfort zone and trying to adjust. To tackle this issue,Fox Newswe’ve compiled five tips to help travelers stay healthy on board—worth a read.

1. Bring disinfectant wipes
Airports are public spaces bustling with people. To reduce the chance of getting sick, use disinfectant wipes as much as possible to clean the tray table, armrests, air conditioning controls, and more before use.

2. Turn on the air vent
Once seated, turn on the air vent above your seat to keep air circulating. This helps prevent you from inhaling stagnant air that may harbor germs.

3. Avoid overdrinking
The cabin is a very dry environment, and drinking too much alcohol or sugary beverages will only make you feel even more dehydrated. Stick to water if possible.

4. Take vitamins and probiotics
Many people may experience constipation, which can worsen during travel. Travelers prone to this can carry probiotics. Vitamin C can also be taken regularly to help reduce the risk of catching a cold.

5. Find opportunities to stretch
Sitting in a confined space for long periods not only causes physical discomfort but also impairs blood circulation. Passengers should take time to stand up and stretch to avoid staying seated too long.
