Star Cruises Charity Voyage Donates Another HK$1.5 Million to Kaohsiung Gas Explosion Victims

Star Cruises and the Hong Kong Office of Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau organized a charity voyage, offering 60 underprivileged Hong Kong students the opportunity to experience a cruise trip.

This “Star Cruises Dream Voyage to Taiwan” charity event was held in collaboration with 17 primary schools in Hong Kong, selecting 60 students with outstanding academic and behavioral performance to embark on a four-day, three-night cruise from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung and Taichung aboard the SuperStar Virgo on August 20.

In addition to Hong Kong celebrity Wanda Wong serving as the charity ambassador for this event, online illustrator Malai Mantou and illustrator Second, known for her character Shuangshuang Cat, also joined the cruise to guide students in painting techniques and the joy of art.

Star Cruises also announced that after the SuperStar Virgo arrived in Kaohsiung on August 21, representatives from Genting Hong Kong and its subsidiary Star Cruises would donate NT$1.5 million to the Kaohsiung City Government Social Affairs Bureau’s Social Assistance Fund account to support residents affected by the July 31 gas explosion in central Kaohsiung.
