A new dry fountain has been installed along the Guandu riverside—enjoy biking and splashing in one go

On a hot summer day, there’s nothing more delightful than cycling along a riverside park while also cooling off with some water play.

The Taipei City Department of Public Works' Bureau of Water Resources recently completed a new dry fountain at Guandu Riverside Park. With 26 nozzles capable of shooting water jets up to 170 cm high for public play, and just a short walk to the nearby riverside bike rental station, visitors can enjoy both splashing fun and cycling in one visit.

The newly built dry fountain area is semi-circular in shape, constructed with slip-resistant granite, and equipped with anti-electric leakage devices to ensure safety. The bureau also noted that nearby facilities include a bike rental station, vending machines, and a light snack area. Visitors can also walk to Guandu Temple for worship. Additionally, the fountain will feature LED lights in five colors at night, adding a romantic touch to the evening atmosphere.

The fountain operates daily from 3 PM to 6 PM starting August 16, and from September onward, it will be open every Saturday and Sunday during those hours. No water spraying will take place from October to May each year. The bureau also reminds visitors to avoid wearing jewelry or small items when entering the dry fountain area to prevent them from falling into the water basin. Eating or drinking within the fountain area is also prohibited to avoid water contamination.
