More and more restaurants are setting up shop – A lazy guide to food and cafes around Songshan Cultural and Creative Park

In recent years, the number of exhibitions held at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park has been increasing, drawing more and more visitors. Spotting a hidden business opportunity, many popular restaurants have started popping up in the area. In addition to early arrivals like the hugely popular café Haodi Café and Japanese dessert shop LeTAO, even more eateries and coffee shops have followed suit. 《ETNEWS》 has rounded up some of the most popular food spots and cafes so you can fill your belly after enjoying an exhibition or exploring Songshan.

Yukino Shita Taipei
Having won the title of “Best Dessert” on Japan’s largest food website Tabelog for two consecutive years, “Yukino Shita” officially entered the Taiwanese market at the end of March. The Taipei branch specially imports low-temperature sterilized milk from the Ikeda Farm in Shizuoka Prefecture, which was awarded the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in Japan, as the main ingredient for pancakes and shaved ice. The milk is flown in weekly, so supplies are limited and available only while stocks last. Unlike the Japan branches, the Taipei store does not offer hot meals—with one exception: the thick omelet sandwich. The shop staff joke, “We originally had no plans to serve savory items, but after trying it, we thought it was simply too delicious, so we decided to introduce it.”

Go-Shinsho Workshop
Tokyo’s popular Shinjuku tsukemen spot “Go-Shinsho Workshop” officially opened on July 3. Their signature dish is shrimp tsukemen, which offers a rich and sweet umami-packed shrimp flavor. The menu for the July 3 opening includes three flavors: rich shrimp tsukemen, rich tomato shrimp tsukemen, and rich dashi shrimp soup noodles.

Tenkan Tea House
Nowadays, not only do restaurant interiors embrace a hipster, quality-focused aesthetic, but the presentation of the food itself is also creatively unique. “Tenkan Tea House,” which has sparked a pilgrimage trend on social media, serves its iced-drip-brewed roasted tea in crystal-clear pentagonal glass bottles—offering not just a deliciously sweet aftertaste, but also super photogenic appeal.

Kyushu Pancake Café Songshan Branch
Feeling like just a pancake isn’t enough to fill you up? Taiwan Kyushu Pancake Café has specially collaborated with the Japanese culinary team behind Kyushu Pancake to develop a new exclusive Taiwanese delight—the “Curry Series.” These four new curry dishes are: Kyushu Special Moonview Meat Sauce Curry, Kyushu Grilled Rich Cheese Tender Chicken Curry, Kyushu Select Tender Chicken & Vegetable Curry, and Kyushu Seasonal Vegetable Curry. The “Curry Series” dishes have been available daily in limited quantities since June 23 at both the Kyushu Pancake Taipei Fookin Branch and the Songshan Branch.

Gao Sanxiao Songshan Cultural and Creative Store
Gao Sanxiao’s charcoal-grilled toast features distinct grill marks. The grilled bread is soft yet surprisingly chewy, never getting soggy from the heat, and carries a faint smoky aroma. One bite reveals a crispy outside and soft inside. Gao Sanxiao’s chicken cutlets and pork cutlets are not fried, staying non-greasy and served as whole slices of meat. Notably, even when cooled, the toast doesn’t get soggy or dry out.

LeTAO Songyan Store
The popular Hokkaido dessert shop LeTAO has opened its namesake café in Taiwan in April, located near the entrance of Taipei’s Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. This is LeTAO’s first overseas branch to bear the same name. The shop’s signature double-layer cheesecake is also available here. To maintain its authentic taste, the double-layer cheesecake is made in Japan and then flown to Taiwan. The original double-layer cheesecake combines Italian mascarpone cheese and Australian cream cheese with rich Hokkaido fresh cream. One layer is a no-bake chilled cheesecake, and the other is a baked cheesecake, offering a rich flavor that melts in your mouth. In addition to the original flavor, there are also chocolate and limited-edition matcha flavors, which are equally popular.

Drip Cafe 好滴
Good Drip Café is now a popular spot near Songyan. Even on weekdays, the seats inside are often fully occupied. Aside from its quality coffee, what captivates many young women is their signature dessert, the “strawberry conal.” In addition to cones and handmade pies, the café also offers savory items such as sandwiches and pasta, with the beef cheese sandwich being one of the popular menu items.
