Located at the intersection of Chenggong Road and Wenxian Road, Sushi Academy used to be a steakhouse. Just over a month ago, the ownership changed, turning it into this eye-catching sushi spot. Boge often passed by, hesitating about whether to try it, until one day a friend highly recommended it after dining here. That’s when I decided to give it a go. And honestly, “once you try it, you’re hooked” perfectly describes my relationship with Sushi Academy—I come here twice a week!!!!

As soon as you walk in, there’s a waiting area. Boge always sees a lot of people sitting and waiting here during meal times.

The dining space inside is spacious, with only a ground floor and not too many seats. The simple color scheme of black, white, and gray gives off a steady and comfortable vibe.

At the very back, there’s also a unique standing counter area—eating standing up is quite a special experience. But someone like me, who’s not great with standing for long, will just stick to sitting properly. ^^"

There are also some side salads and small bowls you can help yourself to, and they even sell beer and sake here.

Every guest gets a complimentary appetizer when they dine here, which changes periodically. A friend who came before had octopus, while on the day Boge visited, it was abalone.

On the first visit, I ordered shrimp roe nigiri, sweet shrimp nigiri, fresh shrimp nigiri, grilled mushroom nigiri, and a bowl of miso soup.

The seafood was super fresh—basically no heavy seasoning was needed because the natural sweetness of the ingredients was already incredibly delicious. As for the grilled mushrooms, I just really wanted mushrooms that day, so I ordered them. Surprisingly, even the mushrooms were amazing~~~ Each mushroom was even bigger than the rice, cooked to perfection, keeping just the right amount of moisture. Every bite was full of umami from the mushrooms.

The miso soup was also flavorful. It had a rich taste, and the tofu pieces inside were soft and tender. The seaweed wasn’t too salty either, and it paired well with the soup without overpowering the flavors.

The cold mixed vegetables dish was a bit unique—instead of using a lot of lettuce, it had more onions. The onions quickly absorbed the sauce, combining with their natural sweetness. Paired with a few bits of dried bonito flakes on top, it was refreshing and delicious.

The mentaiko cheese toast was also fantastic. I was initially worried that the strong cheese flavor might overpower the scallops and mask their original taste—but that worry was unfounded. You could clearly taste the freshness of the scallops, and their natural sweetness was preserved too. Truly impressive.

On my second visit, I ordered four more types of sushi: Hokkaido scallop, tuna, salmon and egg roll, and mentaiko shrimp. These four dishes completely won me over.

The Hokkaido scallop was a huge piece, incredibly tender and sweet. When you slowly savor it in your mouth, you can truly feel the juiciness of this premium, fresh scallop!!!!

The mentaiko shrimp had the perfect amount of mentaiko paired with fresh shrimp—it was equally delicious. Boge is totally a mentaiko fan~~~><

The salmon and egg roll is what fascinated me the most—and it’s saved for last.
This piece of sushi still makes me nostalgic. Every time I go out with friends, I want to drag them to Sushi Academy to try this one!!!! Whenever I eat something topped with fish eggs, Boge usually swallows it in one bite—because trying to take a graceful half-bite sometimes ends up with eggs falling all over the table, which is even more embarrassing. Fortunately, this sushi isn’t too big, so one bite fits perfectly in your mouth. But the moment you take that bite, it feels like you’ve arrived in heaven~~~ First, you taste the salmon, and then as you close your mouth, you accidentally press a few salmon eggs, releasing their juice mixed with the salmon’s unique flavor—it’s truly delicious. Then you slowly bite through the rest of the eggs with your teeth, giving your taste buds a different layer of experience. It made me want to run back and eat another one immediately. I really, really recommend this one.

I actually wanted to go for a third time the same week, but I just didn’t have the time. Next time, I really want to try their seafood N<饭,朋友就是来吃这个,下次我也想要来试试~~~~大家如果有去品尝其他觉得好吃的也欢迎跟我分享喔^__^
