The celebrity Li Fangyu celebrated her birthday in Guam at the end of August, staying at a new hotel opened by a Taiwanese friend, enjoying a sunny vacation with blue seas and skies. She has been to Guam four or five times and knows the place like the back of her hand. This time, she stayed at a newly opened hotel by her Taiwanese friend, enjoying retro decor, oversized rooms, and a stunning pool. Fangyu recommends renting a car as the best way to get around, allowing you to visit the northernmost part of Guam—Coco Palm—that most Taiwanese don’t go to, and enjoy rarely seen white star sand and ultra-transparent waters. “Even just walking along the shore and letting the waves lap at your feet, little fish swim around my ankles—it’s a completely unpolluted paradise.”

As for Guam cuisine, her favorite is the ramen shop. “And what I love most is the warmth of the people in Guam. No matter where you’re from or whether you can speak English, the locals are super friendly to tourists. Wherever you go, either pedestrians wink at you frequently, or shop staff give you discounts without being asked. Even more touching, one time when our car got stuck in the mud during the rain, a family passing by actually got out to help push us out. This kind of human warmth added so many beautiful moments to my trip—truly unforgettable!”
