Heart of Love River

The Love River can be considered the most popular river in Kaohsiung. The landmark “Heart of Love River,” located in the middle and upper reaches, naturally claimed the top spot in online buzz for Kaohsiung night views. With an investment of NT$170 million, the Heart of Love River is a sky bridge connecting East Lake and West Lake. Viewed from above, it resembles a heart shape. Here, you can not only take a stroll but also cycle along the scenic path. On holidays, you can even take a ride on the Love Boat to admire the Love River from different angles.

Shoushan Martyrs' Shrine

The “Shoushan Observation Deck” in Gushan District, in operation since 2013, is also known as the “Martyrs’ Shrine Observation Deck” because it is located right in front of the iconic Martyrs’ Shrine. Its fame online comes from the fact that it not only offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Kaohsiung’s day and night cityscapes but also features a cute 3D Love letter board that attracts large crowds.

Dream Mall

Can’t enjoy a beautiful night view without riding a Ferris wheel. With over 100 light variations based on 10 themes—including water, flowers, fireworks, wind, rainbow, hurricane, and the four seasons—the OPEN Ferris Wheel (Kaohsiung Eye) at Dream Mall takes about 15 minutes per ride. Inside the gondola, you can even hear OPEN Xiaojiang introduce the sights, including West Bay, Kaohsiung Harbor, and Shoushan. From high above, you can take in all these landmarks, especially stunning at night.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Wharf

Planned as a sightseeing wharf, the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Wharf features various installations and amusement facilities, and is also known as the Star of the Ocean. The area includes the Starlight Waterfront and the Shin Kong Boulevard.

The Starlight Waterfront houses the largest family-friendly splash pool in southern Taiwan, with a huge red fountain that stands out. When the pathway is lit up at night, the scenery becomes even more beautiful. Walk into Shin Kong Boulevard, and you’ll see the area’s iconic red container installation art. A must-visit night view spot in Kaohsiung, Dagangshan is dotted with many scenic restaurants along the mountain paths. Blessed with a prime location, it offers stunning views of both sunsets and night scenes. There is also the over 200-year-old Chaofeng Temple on the mountain, whose open space in front of the temple is another great place to admire the night view.
