Summer is made for water fun！ Many Japanese hotels feature swimming pools as their highlight to attract travelers during the hot season. Recently, Rakuten Travel announced the “Top 10 Pool Hotels in Japan,” with the top spot going to “Kisarazu Onsen Ryugu-jo SPA ‘Hotel Mikazuki Ryugu-tei.’” Not only does it offer a family-friendly waterslide, but its pool, just a stone’s throw away from the sunset sea view, also lets guests immerse themselves in the stunning scenery.

Located in Kisarazu, Chiba Prefecture, “Kisarazu Onsen Ryugu-jo SPA 'Hotel Mikazuki Ryugu-tei’” is not far from popular attractions such as the Kisarazu Mitsui Outlet Park and the Umi-hotaru. The hotel features three uniquely styled pools in both indoor and outdoor areas: an indoor “Aqua Park” with a large waterslide and a river-style pool, an outdoor year-round heated pool called “Ocean SPA,” and a summer-exclusive “Garden Pool” that offers views of Mt. Fuji and Tokyo Bay. Thoughtful lighting and water shows are also scheduled at different times of the day. With top-notch facilities, guests can fully enjoy soaking and playing at the hotel, making it the most popular pool hotel.

Ranked second is Okinawa’s “Naha Loisir Hotel,” which also has a summer-exclusive outdoor pool but goes the extra mile by providing a dedicated shallow area for children, allowing both adults and kids to enjoy the water together. At night, there’s a poolside light show for guests to admire the beautiful illuminated pool. The resort is surrounded by lush palm trees and offers a variety of pools for all ages, including the two-story “Hawaiian Pool,” the indoor pool, and more, creating a truly vacation-like atmosphere.
