Taiwan’s first low-cost airline is here！Tigerair Taiwan (Tigerair Taiwan) has officially been established after announcing its launch in late December last year. Following a rigorous five-stage review by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, it officially received the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) issued by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Civil Aeronautics Administration this (16th) noon. It will launch its maiden flight on the Taipei-Singapore route on September 26 as originally planned, officially becoming Taiwan’s first operational low-cost airline.

Starting September 2, Tigerair Taiwan began accepting pre-launch booking registrations, offering popular tickets starting from just NT$888 — “under a thousand New Taiwan dollars, over ten thousand seats.” All available seats were reserved within three and a half hours of the registration opening！Tigerair Taiwan reminds passengers who have completed registration to complete the payment process on its official website by 9 PM on September 23 to secure their seat bookings. Tigerair Taiwan’s official website will also officially begin selling tickets starting today.

Tigerair Taiwan stated that the payment process for seat reservations will be illustrated step-by-step and published on the airline’s Facebook fan page. It advises customers who are unfamiliar with the payment procedure to refer to the Facebook instructions when purchasing tickets. Further details about the airline’s route network development and exclusive promotional information will also be announced in the near future.
