To visit Escape from Paris, a French patisserie in Taipei’s Neihu District near the MRT Gongguan Station Exit X, you’ll find this low-profile yet charming spot on the second floor of a building. With its marble dining tables, it exudes the elegance of French patisserie. The shop carefully selects high-end French tea from the brand Dammann Frères — even food critic Chu Yin-lan has recommended it. You can imagine just how delicious the pastries must be. It’s definitely a must-visit patisserie for ladies who lunch in Taipei. Recommended for Neihu afternoon tea, must-try Neihu patisserie, and offers takeout services.

To get to Fufu French Patisserie Escape from Paris, first take the Taipei MRT to Gongguan Station, Exit X, then walk for 3 minutes.

Hidden modestly on the second floor of an office building, the exterior doesn’t reveal much. Follow the address to the building, and enter via the staircase on the far right next to First Bank.

Once inside the building lobby, the guard room is on the left. The patisserie is on the second floor for dining. If you need to use the restroom, head out through the glass door at the front and go down the hallway — the building’s guard will kindly point you the way.

Walking up the stairs, the black staircase gives off a red carpet, star-walk kind of vibe.

As you walk up from the first floor, you’ll see the sign for Fufu French Patisserie Escape from Paris. Just push the door open and go in — don’t hesitate. Many come here to buy takeaway desserts. It’s hard to imagine such a discreet building draws so many people for sweets, which shows just how popular the desserts are.

Up front, you’ll find a sign displaying Escape from Paris’s business hours — clearly posted. They’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and only open until 7:00 PM.

If you don’t feel like taking the stairs, you can take the building’s elevator to the 2nd floor. When the elevator doors open, you’ll see the patisserie’s entrance right away. If you’ve never been here, you’d never guess such a tasty French patisserie is hidden in this building.

As you step inside, you’ll notice the minimalist, clean, and airy design of Fufu French Patisserie Escape from Paris. The space is thoughtfully kept open for dessert lovers to enjoy their treats. The seating area is spacious and comfortable without feeling cramped. There aren’t many seats — the shop offers only four two-person tables and one four-person table. It’s small but well-equipped like a true French patisserie, unlike others that offer large seating areas.

The logo of Fufu French Patisserie Escape from Paris features a butterfly in mid-flight. It’s elegant and designed with sleek lines — cleverly combining the image of a butterfly with the letter “P” from “Paris.” It’s a witty and meaningful design that perfectly matches the refined feel of French style.

The marble service counter is clean, simple, and sleek, embodying the essence of French elegance.

Bathed in warm yellow lighting, the desserts look like gems on display. The glass display case is filled with an array of pastries, mainly éclairs, mousses, and other classic French treats. Each dessert is priced around NT$200+. They’re exquisitely crafted, and every beautifully decorated piece made Ping Tzu want to try them all.

On the side, there are also recommendations for cookies, room-temperature desserts, and recently added alcoholic beverages. (Don’t drink and drive!)

The tables are decorated with dried flowers, adding a touch of botanical beauty.

The takeout cake packaging is exquisitely designed — just looking at the boxes with bows and simple paper carriers gives off a sense of French luxury.

Another style of takeout gift box is neatly arranged on the counter.

Every table is topped with marble — giving off a refined feel. The uniform design has become a staple in Taipei’s French patisseries over recent years, almost a basic interior design element.

No matter where you sit, each table and chair radiates an air of elegance.

The window-side seats let in more light, creating ever-changing plays of shadow and light.

It’s perfect for enjoying an elegant afternoon tea like a lady of leisure. The relaxing atmosphere makes it great for chatting with friends. They close at 7:00 PM, and there’s no strict time limit for lingering.

The menu follows a minimalist style — mostly text with few images. There aren’t many drink options. The first page lists all the teas. The minimum spend for dining in is one drink: either a single drink for NT$90 or a teapot for NT$180–220. Hot teas come in both teapot and single cup servings, plus there are fruit wines, black coffee, sparkling water, juices, and more.

They use premium French tea from the high-end brand Dammann Frères — it’s truly a delight to have access to it here.

There are various tea options available, both single cups and teapots. Ping Tzu recommends getting a teapot for better value — you can refill it multiple times, making it a great pairing option with desserts.

There are also juice, coffee, and alcoholic drink options.

First, place your order at the counter, where you’ll receive a meal ticket. Pay after you finish eating. For 4 desserts and 2 pots of tea, the average cost per person is NT$630 — and they don’t charge a service fee.

The Four Fruits Black Tea, priced at NT$220 per pot, is based on black tea and Chinese tea, infused with cherries, strawberries, raspberries, and redcurrants, adding a sweet and tangy fruity aroma. The black tea slowly unfolds on the tongue, while a golden glowing bird stands atop the teapot—adorable and charming. Served in a white transparent glass teacup, the tea’s color is fully visible, enhancing its appeal and making it even more enticing to drink.

The Blue Garden Floral & Fruit Black Tea, priced at NT$200 per pot, uses Ceylon black tea and Chinese tea as its base, with added aromas of rhubarb, wild strawberries, and cornflower petals. Beyond the rich scent of Ceylon black tea, the fruitiness is exceptionally pronounced, with earthy-toned fruit aromas blending harmoniously with the tea’s fragrance—deep, lush, and sweetly lingering.

We ordered four desserts, each uniquely shaped and vibrant in color—the desserts were exquisite just to look at. No additional garnishes like chocolate sauce or decorative plating were used; the desserts were served as-is. The selection included: *Green Fairy Tale* (NT$220), *Cherry Berry Forest* (NT$220), *Bamboo* (NT$200), and the *Seasonal Limited—Peach Oolong Puff*.

*Green Fairy Tale* (NT$220) immediately brings to mind the famous world-renowned picture book—a whimsical journey of the Scarecrow and his friends on an adventure. The entire yellow mini tower is adorned with a profusion of tiny flowers, resembling blossoms in full bloom, basking in the nourishment of the earth.

*Green Fairy Tale* is coated with a sweet white chocolate shell on the outside, while the filling features an organic mint lemon mousse for a refreshing taste, paired with a soft almond cake layer in the middle. It has a tangy-sweet berry jelly layer, with a soft, jellied texture that adds rich layers of flavor—perfectly appetizing.

*Cherry Berry Forest* (NT$220) looks like a blooming rose, evoking the relationship between the Little Prince and his rose: “If you love a flower that lives on a star, it is good to look at the sky at night.” A touch of gold leaf is placed in the center, incredibly eye-catching, giving the dessert an extra layer of storytelling.

*Cherry Berry Forest* combines the Four Fruits Black Tea with a chocolate mousse, featuring a crispy salted caramel chocolate crust on the outside for a delightful crunch. The filling includes cocoa cake and cherry berry jam, creating a sweet and tangy flavor profile. The tartness of the berries and the sweetness of the chocolate blend to produce a unique tangy-sweet taste, enhanced by a blackberry chocolate sauce with a smooth, velvety texture—evoking a romantic, love-filled ambiance. So sweet and delightful.

*Bamboo* (NT$200) features a vibrant green, nest-like shape on top, with a puff pastry base clearly visible underneath. The simple touch of green evokes the feeling of a summer breeze. One bite delivers the refreshing taste of matcha, reminding Pingzi of the wonderful moments of tasting matcha in Uji, Kyoto, sparking a desire to visit Kyoto.

*Bamboo* draws inspiration from the imagery of bamboo, using Kyoto Matcha Ooyamaen matcha cream and matcha ganache. The top layer features a sweet yet not cloying matcha custard with a pleasant matcha aroma, paired with the tangy-sweet flavor of plum yuzu cubes, adding a citrusy layer that highlights the unique taste of matcha.

The *Seasonal Limited—Peach Oolong Puff* immediately brings to mind the color of oolong tea, creatively combining it with the dessert—a fun concept. The entire puff is swirled into a vortex shape.

The aroma of oolong tea and the rich, velvety peach mousse are complemented by the crispy puff pastry crust on the bottom, which crackles with each bite, adding a satisfying crunch. The tea’s freshness is intensely fragrant and rich.

After seeing Pingzi’s introduction to this French patisserie, *Fufu French Pastry Escape from Paris*, located in Neihu, doesn’t it seem quite stylish? Why not take some time to visit and try it?
