It’s the perfect season to savor plump, succulent crabs — top five-star hotels roll out autumn crab dishes

For food enthusiasts, autumn is the best time to enjoy crabs, when they are at their plumpest and most flavorful. To cater to crab lovers, many hotels have launched a variety of autumn crab dishes, allowing diners to choose according to their personal preferences.
From September 15 to October 31, the Les Amis recipe Chinese Restaurant at Les Suites Taipei Chihpin presents the “Autumn ‘Crab’ Delights” set, featuring two specially selected types of crab — Taiwanese Virgin Crab and Canadian Dungeness Crab. These are prepared in four ways: Crab Braised in Chicken Pot with Shaoxing Wine, Scallions and Ginger; Crab with Fermented Soybean Chili Meat Sauce; Fish-Fragrant Singaporean Spicy Crab; and Crab Steamed with Shaoxing Wine and Chicken Fat. Guests can choose their preferred crab type and flavor based on their taste.

Starting September 16, the Yi Palace Chinese Restaurant at The Regent Taipei launches an exclusive “Steamed Whole Dazha Crab” set meal for NT$1,980 + 10%. Each set includes two Dazha crabs served with an appetizer salad, stewed soup, clay pot rice, dessert, and a complimentary glass of limited-edition 58-degree Kinmen Royal Premium Sorghum Liquor.

Starting September 16, the Grand Hyatt Taipei’s second-floor Cantonese Restaurant and twelfth-floor Sichuan Restaurant jointly present the “Autumn Crab Encounter Fine Dining,” where the chefs select fresh crabs of the day such as Taiwan Wanli Crabs, Three-Spot Crabs, male and female Sand Crabs, Red Crabs, and Snow Crab, crafting each dish starting from NT$380. A CUT STEAKHOUSE also introduces a series of Wanli Crab dishes starting October 1, each priced from NT$350. Additionally, in mid-to-late October, the second-floor Cantonese Restaurant will offer limited Dazha Crab dishes, providing a variety of options for gourmands to enjoy these autumn-exclusive crab delicacies.
