What are the countries most loved by Americans? The American news websiteVOXrecently released survey data from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, in which Americans were asked to rate 25 countries to see which ones are their favorites...and, of course, which are the least popular.(Click here for the original source)

This year, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs selected 25 countries from around the world and surveyed 2,108 Americans, asking them to rate each country on a scale from 0 to 100 based on their preference. A score of 100 means “like a lot,” 0 means “feel very indifferent or negative,” and 50 represents a neutral impression.

After averaging the scores, the country that left the best impression on Americans and was the most liked is their neighbor Canada, ranking first with an average score of 79. Closely following are the United Kingdom and Germany, with 74 and 65 points respectively. Japan ranked fourth with 62 points, making it the highest-ranking Asian country on the list.

VOX specifically pointed out that the ranking of countries with “neutral” impressions

Among the countries Americans dislike the most, North Korea ranked first with 23 points, Iran and Iraq took the second and third spots with 27 and 31 points respectively, while Russia came in fifth with 36 points—the lowest score since the end of the Cold War.
