Niceshow Songya Department Store in Chiayi Hosts “100 Rilakkuma Dog Exhibition” – Hundreds of Adorable Poses Capture Attention

E-Da Theme Park only recently obtained the rights to the once wildly popular Japanese anime “Heidi, Girl of the Alps” earlier this year, displaying the Saint Bernard dog “Rilakkuma” from the show within the park, which received an overwhelmingly positive response. To celebrate its 8th anniversary since opening, the related Niceshow Songya Department Store in Chiayi City has set up an exhibition of 100 little Rilakkumas in various poses in the plaza at the front of the department store starting today, attracting locals eager to take photos.

Niceshow Songya Department Store stated that the “100 Little Rilakkuma Exhibition” draws inspiration from the large-scale outdoor installation art concept of the 1,600 paper pandas exhibit held earlier this year. Although it was previously displayed at E-Da Theme Park, the short exhibition period meant many visitors missed out. Taking advantage of the department store’s 8th anniversary, they’ve specially gathered 100 Rilakkumas to join in the celebration.

The organizer also noted that the “100 Little Rilakkuma Exhibition” will run from today through November, with no current plans to extend the exhibition to other cities or counties. To ensure all the little Rilakkumas make it through the several-month exhibition period smoothly, in addition to having security patrol 24 hours a day, special methods have been used to secure the Rilakkumas to the ground to prevent them from being stolen.

On the mornings of the 20th and 21st at 11 AM, the organizer will also host an on-site event where visitors who take photos and check in can receive a free 8-inch Rilakkuma plush toy. Quantities are limited and will be given out until supplies last.
