Typhoon Falcon has brought torrential rains to Taiwan, and meteorologists have warned that heavy downpours are expected across the island. To ensure visitor safety, many theme parks and recreational areas have announced they will be closed today (September 21). Below is a compiled list of currently closed scenic spots and recreational areas across Taiwan.

Maokong Gondola: Suspended for one day on September 21

Taoyuan’s Houci Lake and Baleng Ancient Trail: Closed on September 21 and 22

Taoyuan’s Little Wulai Skywalk: Temporarily closed on September 21

Taoyuan’s Jiaobanshan Guesthouse: Closed for the day on September 21

Yilan’s Fushan Botanical Garden: Closed for two days on September 21 and 22

[National Parks]

Shei-Pa National Park: Hiking trails closed to entry

Taroko National Park: Prohibited access to ecological protection zones; the “Taroko Gorge Music Festival” at Qingshui Cliff on September 20 postponed to September 28

Kenting National Park: Includes beaches at Eluanbi Park, Taiwan’s Southernmost Point, Longkeng Ecological Protection Area, Nanrenshan Ecological Protection Area, and surrounding sea areas—closed until the alert is lifted

Yushan National Park: Entry prohibited in ecological protection zones; due to heavy rain loosening mountain soil, Yushan National Park Headquarters advises against mountain visits during the typhoon

E-DA Theme Park: Outdoor rides, Ferris wheel, B-zone Santorini Village rides, mini driving school, Moulin Rouge Nightclub, and Rhino Sports Restaurant closed for one day on September 21
