Taichung’s brand-new check-in landmark “Mini Egg” has hatched!

The “Mini Egg” multifunctional sports center, located next to the Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium, was originally scheduled to open in 2015 but faced delays due to construction issues. Now, it has finally “hatched”! In the future, it will connect with nearby attractions to create Taiwan’s first baseball-themed sports and leisure park. It can also serve as a badminton court, basketball court, and venue for large-scale events, becoming a new must-visit spot in Taichung.

The Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Cultural and Creative Park will officially open on the 23rd. Located next to the Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Beitun District, the park connects attractions such as the Taichung Baseball Story Museum, Sports Café, Good Day Cultural and Creative Market, and container shops. In addition to providing a recreational complex for local residents and baseball fans nationwide, its adorable Mini Egg building, inspired by baseball, is also highly eye-catching and is sure to spark a check-in trend.

The Mini Egg covers an area of 89,000 square meters and stands 29 meters tall, with 3,000 seats. From aerial photos, the massive white sphere with classic red stitching looks like a giant’s thrown ball that has landed. Additionally, in preparation for the East Asian Youth Games, the Mini Egg will be developed into a museum themed around baseball and sports, where the public can visit for tours.
