YouBikes are now available in Lukang, Changhua — set to launch by Lunar New Year at the earliest

Changhua County is actively promoting the YouBike transportation system. Following its launch in Changhua City and Yuanlin Township, Lukang Township will also get YouBike stations. This initiative will not only benefit local residents but also make it easier for backpackers and independent travelers to explore the old streets by bike.

YouBike service in Changhua County began operating in Changhua City in May this year, expanded to Yuanlin in August, and as of the 26th, the cumulative number of users has surpassed 650,000 — an astonishing growth rate. The county government stated that the next goal is to establish 15 YouBike stations in Lukang Township, with at least five located in the old town area, aiming to launch them before Lunar New Year to serve travelers visiting during the holiday.

The county government’s Urban and Cultural Affairs Bureau has planned,Lukang Township Office, Wenwu Temple, Longshan Temple, Lukang High School, Folklore Museum, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Lukang Branch, Lukang Junior High School, and Tianhou Temple— potential station locations in these areas of the old town are all under consideration.
