Taiwan’s only peninsula “camping secret spot” offers starry skies and ocean sounds, plus exclusive temple tents

Sleeping under the stars and listening to the waves is a dream come true—but camping inconveniences often hold people back. The “Peninsula Secret Spot” on the North Coast, now open for half a year, not only has regular tents but also luxurious “temple tents,” allowing you to immerse yourself in nature empty-handed and fulfill the lazy camper’s desire for a perfect outdoor experience.

Nestled next to Bai Sha Bay and near the Linshanbi Trail, the site was formerly the Bai Sha Bay Recreation Center. Decades ago, the operators had the foresight to purchase the land and create a destination that combines nature and educational value. Most uniquely, the “Peninsula Secret Spot” sits on Taiwan’s only peninsula cape terrain, with direct beach access for strolling and wading. It also offers kayak rentals and barbecue reservations for a relaxing vacation vibe.

Administrative Director Xie Guanzhang said the “temple tent” has a diameter of about 5 meters, featuring a sofa, table, double bed set, and imported Turkish lighting decor. The tent structure is similar to those at Qianmei Shan Na Village, with only two currently available—reservations are required three months in advance for weekends. Additionally, large tents like monster tents, Transformers-themed ones, and 5x8-meter canopies cater to group travelers, adding more fun to camping trips.

Xie Guanzhang said the “Peninsula Secret Spot” launched in January 2017, spanning 10 hectares with Bai Sha Bay seaside guesthouses, camping zones, water activity areas, and a loop trail. The camping zone holds over 80 tents, with most visitors bringing their own gear for weekend getaways to this serene hidden gem.

Xie Guanzhang also revealed that a yurt area will be set up in 1–2 months, with eight yurts shipped from Outer Mongolia to Taiwan, letting travelers experience the culture without traveling all the way to Mongolia.
