Heading to Greater Taoyuan: Japanese conveyor belt sushi chain HAMA Sushi to open in Taoyuan District

Following the departure of another Japanese conveyor belt sushi brand, はま寿司 (HAMA Sushi), from Taipei City to open a branch in Keelung, the brand now appears to be preparing to expand into Taoyuan. Recruitment for the Taoyuan City, Taoyuan District location is currently underway on a job bank. In the future, fans of conveyor belt sushi in Taoyuan District will have options beyond the local Sushiro, with choices including Genki Sushi and HAMA Sushi.

HAMA Sushi (はま寿司) offers over 70 types of sushi starting at NT$40 per plate, along with other items such as sashimi, salads, soups, udon noodles, ramen, desserts, and even coffee. Among its popular offerings, the tuna belly (toro) was upgraded at the end of April with a selection of even richer cuts. New varieties include specially selected tuna belly, specially selected grilled tuna belly, and specially selected tuna belly on a boat.

Additionally, Genki Sushi, another Japanese brand, aims to expand to 10 locations in Taiwan this year. Genki Sushi Taiwan Chairman Kentaro Nishikawa revealed the next phase of expansion plans, which will begin with a new branch in Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City, followed by expansion into New Taipei City, possibly in the Sanchong-Luzhou area.
