Typhoon Nesat Hits Taiwan: Summary of Domestic and International Flight Changes

Tropical Storm Nesat continues to intensify. The Central Weather Bureau predicts it will reach moderate typhoon strength tonight, with its storm circle gradually covering the entire island of Taiwan starting tomorrow. The bureau has also expanded the land warning zone. Due to the typhoon’s impact, airlines have begun announcing flight adjustments for July 29th this evening, with multiple domestic flights being cancelled. Passengers originally scheduled to fly domestic routes or cross-strait flights tomorrow are advised to pay close attention and stay updated on flight status.

China Airlines
Flights at Songshan, Taichung, and Kaohsiung airports will operate normally before 2:00 PM on July 29th. Flights at Taoyuan Airport will operate normally before 6:00 PM on July 29th.
China Airlines Flight Adjustments for July 29th:
CI124 Taoyuan–Ishigaki delayed by 24 hours
CI125 Ishigaki–Taoyuan delayed by 24 hours
CI012 Taoyuan–New York departs 30 minutes earlier
CI053 Taoyuan–Brisbane–Auckland departs 6 hours and 50 minutes earlier

Mandarin Airlines
Domestic Routes: All flights on Hualien and Taitung routes cancelled for the whole day. All Kinmen and Matsu flights after 12:00 cancelled.
Taichung International and Cross-Strait Routes: Taichung–Hong Kong AE1831/1832 cancelled.

EVA Air / Uni Air
All Taipei–Taitung and Taipei–Hualien flights cancelled for the whole day. All flights from Taiwan proper to outlying islands after 12:00 cancelled.
All flights departing from Kaohsiung’s Xiaogang Airport after 12:00 on July 29th and 30th cancelled.

TransAsia Airways
Domestic Routes: Makung–Taipei FE8026 departs at 12:00. Kinmen–Taipei route cancelled after 12:00.
International Routes: Kaohsiung–Port of Kaohsiung FE189 departs at 13:20.

Tigerair Taiwan
Flight IT-288 Kaohsiung–Naha, Okinawa departs at 11:30 AM. Flight IT-289 Naha, Okinawa–Kaohsiung departs at 3:15 PM. Tigerair Taiwan reminds passengers planning to take IT-289 to arrive at Naha Airport between 11:30 AM and 12:40 PM to complete check-in and seat assignment procedures.

Daily Air
All eastern Taiwan and outlying island flights cancelled for the whole day

China Southern Airlines
CZ3026/CZ3025 Taipei–Zhangjiajie, CZ3096/CZ3095 Taipei–Pudong, CZ3020/CZ3019 Taipei–Guilin, CZ3046/CZ3045 Taipei–Nanning, CZ3052/CZ3051 Taipei–Changchun: all the above flights cancelled.

Cathay Pacific
All flights between Kaohsiung and Hong Kong cancelled.

Air China / Shenzhen Airlines
Some flights on July 29, 2017 have been confirmed canceled. Flight changes are as follows:
