Vendors, stay away from the beaches！Thailand’s beach clean-up campaign kicks off in the “sleepy town” of Hua Hin

Thailand has been ranked among the world’s top ten most popular tourist destinations, renowned for its beautiful beaches loved by travelers. Recently, Thai authorities have launched a nationwide beach clean-up initiative, starting with the resort town of Hua Hin, with the primary goal of improving the quality of beach holiday tourism.

In Thailand’s coastal areas, illegal vendors and businesses often occupy the beaches. As part of the “beach clean-up campaign,” these unauthorized vendors will be ordered to cease operations and have their structures dismantled. Authorities have already begun clearing vendors from beaches near Hua Hin. The Tourism Authority of Thailand stated that government officials and cleaning crews are relocating vendors to designated areas farther from the beach, where they will also be subject to strict regulations regarding hygiene and pricing.

Known as the “sleepy town,” Hua Hin is a microcosm of Thailand’s seaside resorts and has long been a popular weekend getaway for residents of Bangkok, as well as an alternative holiday destination for the royal family. In addition, the town boasts numerous world-class hotels and a modern, luxurious lifestyle. By the end of this year, a Thai real estate development company plans to complete Asia’s first water park jungle theme park, named Vana Nava Hua Hin.

【Editor’s Note】Travelers can fly from Bangkok’s airport to Hua Hin on a domestic flight, which takes about 30 minutes; or take a mini-van from downtown Bangkok to Hua Hin, which takes around three hours; or take a bus from the Southern Bus Terminal—though this may involve transfers—or opt for an overnight train directly to Hua Hin Railway Station.
