Breaking News / Unexpected power outage at E-DA World leaves amusement area in complete darkness

Kaohsiung’s E-DA World experienced an unexpected power outage this afternoon (3rd). According to eyewitnesses, not only did the restaurant areas lose electricity, but amusement rides such as the Ferris wheel also came to a complete halt due to the blackout. There were reports of tourists being trapped, and some netizens even claimed that visitors were stuck in elevators.

However, E-DA World’s public relations team responded that there was indeed a power outage around 1:20 pm that lasted approximately 10 minutes.The outage in the mall area was caused by an outsourced contractor accidentally flipping a switch while performing a power inspection. As for the Ferris wheel, although some visitors reported being affected, E-DA stated that the ride has its own backup power supply and was therefore unaffected. Furthermore, after an immediate inspection of the elevators and amusement facilities, on-site staff confirmed that no tourists or employees were trapped.
