EVA Air flights gradually returning to normal; 46 Taiwan tour groups with 1,324 people still stranded in Japan

Affected by Typhoon Nesat, over 500 EVA Air flight attendants took disaster leave on the 30th, leading to the cancellation of 50 flights. According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau in the evening, there are currently 46 Taiwan tour groups with 1,324 people stranded or delayed in returning from Japan, while 41 groups with 1,003 people have canceled or postponed their trips to Japan.

Due to flight and schedule adjustments caused by Typhoon Nesat, EVA Air canceled 50 flights, affecting more than 10,000 inbound and outbound passengers, with tour groups to Japan being the most impacted. As of 4 p.m., the Tourism Bureau reported that travel agencies such as Wu Fu, Shanco International, Daxing, Lion Travel, KF Leisure, and lN Jia had canceled or postponed approximately 41 tour groups, involving 1,003 people, while another 46 groups with 1,324 people are experiencing delays or are stranded in Japan.

However, regarding EVA Air’s cancellations of flights to destinations such as mainland China, Guangzhou, Macau, and Hong Kong, there have been no reports so far of travel agencies canceling group tours. The Tourism Bureau stated that it has instructed relevant travel agencies to clearly and thoroughly explain follow-up arrangements to travelers and ensure the proper care and safety of those stranded, reporting any issues immediately to the Tourism Bureau.
