"The beauty of Taiwan should be known to the whole world!" Ever since getting to know Brother Kuan from Canhe Court, he has been promoting the beauty of Taiwanese cuisine to the world by blending modern Taiwanese cooking styles with Western wine culture. Starting with its Zhongxiao flagship store, Canhe Court now has branches in Dazhi, Breeze Nanjing, Taoyuan Hwatai, Kaohsiung Yida, Shanghai Huaihai, and a Milan, Italy location in preparation—letting everyone get to know Taiwan through food.

Since trying the first Zhongxiao flagship store, whenever there's been a need for fan meetups, Canhe Court’s dishes have naturally been my top choice. That’s why I’ve eaten at the Dazhi branch twice already. This time, thanks to its convenient location, I came back to the Dazhi branch again. Let’s just say that although most people think Dazhi is kind of far, for those with cars, it’s actually much more convenient. After the meal, you can even stroll over to Miramar to catch a movie. So Burnout Nurse always prefers the Dazhi branch over the others. This time, hanging out with friends, we got to try quite a few new dishes. And the cute little snacks and refined cocktails still managed to wow us just as much as ever!

The menu is like a magazine—each dish looks so dreamy and beautiful that just choosing what to order takes serious thought.

This time, for our gathering of seven, we picked about ten different dishes. Forget about whether we were satisfied—we took tons of photos just from looking at them all. First, let me introduce the stunning and buzz-worthySouthern Taiwan Fried RiceHere you go. Do you want Keelung-style or Tainan-style? One friend actually scraped clean the section labeled Miaoli just because her in-laws are from there—with great indignation!! What about the outer islands—Green Island (passion fruit papaya slices) and Orchid Island (chili)—any takers? Let’s see who dares to claim Orchid Island!

This Taiwanese fried rice isn’t just a conversation piece—it features sakura shrimp, green beans, and various seafood stir-fried together. Not only does it carry the aroma of sakura shrimp, but also the crispness of green beans. On top, there’s flying fish roe for that fun popping texture. The texture isn’t soggy at all. Paired with homemade chili sauce and refreshing passion fruit papaya slices, it elevates the flavor to another level!

This chili sauce is really flavorful and delicious—I heard they plan to sell it. We’ll definitely need to keep an eye on that!

This signature dish from the Dazhi branch,Juicy Saltwater Chicken, is truly one of those must-order dishes you can never get tired of. Every time I eat it, I find it hard to go back to street vendor versions. Plus, it uses low-temperature cooked chicken breast, which is unexpectedly tender and smooth~

ThisVegetable Cubes and Spicy Ground Beefis really devilish—green onion paired with baby corn cubes and minced beef, savory and slightly spicy, goes perfectly with rice. I only planned to eat a little bit of rice, but it was so good with the dish that I accidentally ended up eating two bowls.

Speaking of which, thisQuinoa Hot Spring Spicy Beefis truly an eye-catching dish. Not only is it topped with the current health food darling—red quinoa—but it also features beef stir-fried with spicy sauce and topped with a hot spring egg. The captivating aroma of Sichuan peppercorn, along with the sight of mixing the hot spring egg in, instantly makes your mouth water. The tender beef combined with the Sichuan pepper fragrance makes this spicy version of garlic beef something you just can’t stop eating—the chopsticks never rest!

Creative Taiwanese cuisine is just that—creative. This dish pairs Taiwanese snacks withPurple Cigar Chicken, using fried chicken thigh chunks, fried sweet potato cubes, and aromatics like green onion and garlic stir-fried together, then sprinkled with purple sweet potato snowflakes. Calling this the restaurant version of salt and pepper chicken is almost too romantic!

Since this is a wine bar, there’s naturally a dish to pair with drinks—Wasabi Snail Head. It uses sea snail meat (commonly known as white snail meat) paired with yellow and red bell peppers, all wrapped in Japanese wasabi sauce. It’s super pungent, but the snail meat is delightfully crunchy. Even though your eyes might water, your hand will keep reaching for more~

As for the wasabi-spicy snail meat, the recommended drink pairing is this Desert Oasis, made with tequila, cherry brandy, absinthe, orange juice, and ginger ale. One bite of snail meat, one sip of Desert Oasis—the alcohol meets the spice, and it’s just awesome~~~

What else is a must-order at the Dazhi branch? Then I’d recommend this dish made with "lover’s tears" —Crab Meat with Rain-Lover Mushroom.Originally a rare dish only available on rainy days, it’s paired with scrambled eggs, fresh crab meat, and dried anchovies — an unexpectedly unique combination. One bite reveals a mix of soft, crispy, and fresh textures that instantly became my favorite of the day.

Speaking of drinking snacks, how can you miss thisMustard Pork Intestine? This classic Taiwanese dish from Sanheyuan adds a touch of modern flair. The pork intestines are free of any fishy taste, not overly crispy, keeping a bit of tenderness, and the salt and pepper seasoning isn’t too salty — perfect as a drinking snack.

For drinks, I’d recommend the whiskey-based drink with mint leaves from Luyu Tea House. Of course, non-drinkers can try the Banana Berry Paradise — the colors of these two drinks really match the food perfectly!!!

Taro paste shrimp is a common classic dish, but Sanheyuan’sCheese Taro Paste Shrimpis a bold reinvention of the old classic. The bottom layer is topped with cheese and shredded cabbage, while the top features flaky layers of taro paste like snow. This East-meets-West creative dish blends shrimp, cheese, and taro paste seamlessly.

Golden Melon with Sand, where the texture of melon differs from loofah, adding a touch of sweetness. Combined with the savory saltiness of golden egg yolk, this dish is rich in both aroma and texture.

The Sensory Garden, made with perfume brandy, berry vodka, mixed berry jam, homemade vanilla syrup, and egg white, and the Bartender’s Botanical Garden, made with gin, mixed herbal bundle, citrus liqueur, lime juice, and tonic water, are also two highly recommended drink pairings. Though my friend ended up getting tipsy quietly after drinking them...The Bartender's Botanical Garden These two drinks are also highly recommended as pairing wines, although my friend ended up quietly getting drunk after drinking them...

Why suddenly introduce two drinks while talking about outfits? It’s all for this —Scallion Oyster Pancake.Ah!! Fresh oysters mixed with plenty of green onions, pan-fried into a shape resembling oyster omelet but with the texture of oyster fritters. Topped with Taichung’s famous Dongquan chili sauce, it’s slightly spicy, sweet, and salty — great with rice and even better with drinks. Highly recommended.

Of course, besides alcohol, pairing it withOld-Fashioned Pineapple Black Teais also fantastic!! The drinks and alcohol at Kuange’s place really go super well with the food!!

Panda Sesame Bun, could this bun be any cuter!!! Although it’s literally a sesame-flavored bun, the sesame isn’t overly sweet and retains its nutty aroma, plus the appearance is just adorable.▲Taipei’s trendy and creative Taiwanese cuisine. (Photo provided by Burnt-Out Nurse)

Golden Lucky Peach, the filling is date paste with pine nuts, and the shape resembles a longevity peach, topped with gold foil — festive and delicious. Plus, diners who are celebrating their birthday that month get one for free. Recommended for family gatherings or birthday banquets at Sanhe Yuan — this charming little peach is a must-order~

After the meal, someone quietly shared another full menu of dishes. Honestly, whether new or old dishes, Sanhe Yuan is really great for group meals and entertaining. But after eating that day, everyone suddenly started reminiscing about the soup we had last time, regretting not ordering it, and decided to plan another gathering soon!
