National Day fireworks light up Taichung – 19 prime viewing spots across four key areas

This year’s National Day fireworks display will take place at Taichung Harbor. In celebration of the National Day holiday, the Taichung City Government has gone the extra mile by offering not only a spectacular 40-minute fireworks show on the actual holiday but also an additional 20-minute display the following night (November 11). The Taichung City Tourism Bureau has recommended 19 of the best spots to watch the fireworks, allowing the public to enjoy the dazzling display from various elevated vantage points.

To alleviate the large crowds, aside from watching the fireworks at the main stage area in front of Taichung Harbor,the Taichung City Tourism and Travel Bureau has also designated four key areas with a total of 19 optimal fireworks viewing spots, enabling the public to enjoy the beautiful display from other high points. The viewing spots can generally be divided into four areas: Qingshui, Shalu, Longjing, and Dadu.The categorized viewing spots are as follows:

1. Qingshui District: Taichung Harbor Ring North Road, Wujhi Fishing Port, Tianji Xinggong, Aofengshan Observation Deck, Qingyun Rock.

2. Shalu District: “Bridge of Hope” in Gongming Li, Zhongqing Road (from Taichung Expressway Shalu Interchange to Sanmin Intersection), Zhongxing Road (from Provincial Highway 1 to Shatian Road), the industrial road from Gongming Li toward the Metropolitan Park (from Section 1 of Taiwan South Road to Lequn Second Village), Renyuan Building Magpie Bridge and sports field at Providence University

3. Longjing District: Longjing Revetment Road, County Road 136 (Special Route 3 to Longjing Interchange), Section 2 of Zhonghua Road (from Section 1 of Gangnan Road to Sightseeing Road Intersection), Taiwan Boulevard (from Shuili She Intersection to Taichung Expressway Overpass), Special Route 3 (from Taiwan Boulevard to County Road 136 Intersection), Hendon Memorial Park in Nanliao Li.

4. Dadu District: Bianzitou Revetment Road (flood control bike path), Huashan Road, Huanan Road
