A 7-meter-tall giant cat appears at Ximending’s Red House – the white-and-red-striped “Mikey” makes its debut on the 18th

There’s a giant cat on the prowl in Ximending now!\nHowToTrip’s Ximending Red House has teamed up with Sweden’s nationally treasured ceramic artist Lisa Larson to host an art pop-up event. From the 14th to the 19th, the 7-meter-long white-and-red-striped big cat “Mikey” will strut around the Red House with its proud and all-knowing expression, meeting and greeting the public.

The cool-looking giant cat “Mikey” was created by Lisa Larson, a nationally treasured ceramic designer from Scandinavia, Sweden, along with her daughter Johanna. The creative concept is that when Mikey appears in giant proportion before the public, the stark yet humorous contrast between the massive feline and the tiny humans is reminiscent of a scene from Gulliver’s Travels dropped right into our everyday surroundings.

Through this playful creation, art and daily life are seamlessly integrated, allowing visitors to experience a lifestyle aesthetic where creativity can be found everywhere through a cultural and creative journey in the neighborhood.

During the exhibition period, there will also be a parent-child doodling activity on the 18th. Line drawings of Mikey and painting supplies will be provided on-site for the public to unleash their creativity and color Mikey as they wish. Additionally, in anticipation of the upcoming Halloween, the “Adamson Little Ghosts’ Trick or Treat!” event will also take place that day, starting from Ximending Red House. A Halloween costume parade will make its way through the pedestrian zone to Taipei Film House Park, turning the entire Ximending area into a Halloween carnival celebration.
